Mark Robinson Wins At Milwaukee!!

Tom Cerrato was awarded the pole with a blazing 29.9670.  Tanya James started 2nd with a 30.0457 and Rich Gajewski started third posting a 30.1591.  Mark Robertson had the fastest lap of the race on lap 21 with a time of 29.7238.  Mark Robertson of Robertson Welding led the most laps of 33, Tom Cerrato led 26 driving his #41 US Sim Racing Chevy, Dwayne Hamm Led 5 in his 09 Southern Concrete Chevrolet, Tanya James Led 4 in her #74 “Dragonator” mobile, Mike Gajewski led 1 in his SoloCam Ford and Rich Gajewski led1 in the sleek #5 Vemma “Thirst” car ( Painted By Mike Ward of Extreme Gaming).  There were 6 lead changes between 6 drivers and 5 cautions totaling 15 laps of the race.

This week proved to be one of our best races yet!  55 green flag laps with minimal carnage.  Just good old white knuckle, on the edge, butt puckerin racin.  The drivers seem to have put it all together here for the last race of the season where a battle for position seemed to be constant throughout the field.   Kevin Franklin, a new driver to our league made his debut this week.  Kevin in his #64 Dodge Motorsports Dodge proved to be a major factor.  After a strong showing we will be expecting great things from this ARCA veteran.

The 70 lap race seemed to take its toll on some of the drivers.  From About mid way of the race, Craig Bristol, Mike Gajewski and Erik Gajewski were unable to keep pace or were out due to various mishaps (throat clearing).  Tom Cerrato, our points leader, was mixed up in a caution causing incident that would leave his car lacking and ultimately finishing 7th.    Mark Robertson again running solo out front had too much in reserve for the rest of the pack took a comfortable checkered flag.  Dwayne Hamm, 2nd in points and Rich Gajewski running 3rd in points for the season, battled it out trading positions on the last few laps.  The second to last lap Dwayne “The Hammer” Hamm with a commanding pass, passed Rich to take second place but was unable to hold Rich off at the end where Dwayne ran into the second to last turn way too deep allowing Rich to again overtake the second place hopeful with a sling shot pass on the low side with only a half lap to go,  Rich ultimately shut him down and stole second place in the race and 2nd place overall!!!!   Mike Ward would finish 4th, Mike Gajewski 5th, Kevin Franklin 6th, Tom Cerrato 7th, Tanya James 8th, rookie of the year hopeful Erik Gajewski 9th and Craig Bristol 10th.  Congratulations goes out to Mark Robertson for the win at Milwaukee and to Tom Cerrato for the Big Dawgz Racing League Inaugural Season Championship!!!

On another note, last weeks race left Mike Ward under investigation for an “oily like substance” running across pit road from his pit stall.  At the time, the “oily substance” was the suspected reason for Mark Robertsons spin on pit road.  It turns out that it was a Big Gulp which was knocked off of his pit wall during a green flag stop.  Since there is not a current rule in the BDRL ARCA series rule book about spilled sodas, Mike Ward was exonerated and all penalties were dropped.  BDRL will be adding a rule addressing food in the pit area before next season.  Thanks Mike……
